Hemp and Oat protein bar

The perfect snack to go with a cup of tea! Packed full of protein and slow release energy, these golden protein bars are the perfect treat!

Ingredients

188g  jumbo porridge oats

63g Hemp hearts plus extra for the top

125g butter, plus extra for the tin

125g light brown sugar

2-3 tbsp golden syrup (depending on how gooey you want it)

  1. Heat the oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. 
  2. Put Butter in Pan with sugar, stir until dissolved.
  3. Put the oats, hemp hearts and golden syrup in and stir until all is covered.
  4. Lightly butter a 20 x 20cm baking tin and add the mixture.
  5. Press into the corners with the back of a spoon so the mixture is flat.
  6. Sprinkle hemp heart on top with a dusting of sugar to make a to make a crispy hemp topping.
  7. Bake for around 15 mins until golden brown.
  8. Enjoy!
