Hemp and Oat Protein Bar (Flapjacks)

The perfect snack to go with a cup of tea! Packed full of protein and slow release energy, these golden protein bars are the perfect treat!
Hemp North
Ingredients:
160g jumbo porridge oats
100g Hemp North hemp hearts plus extra for the top
125g butter or margarine, plus extra for the tin
125g light brown sugar
2-3 tbsp golden syrup (depending on how gooey you want it)
Method:
- Pre-heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6.
- Melt the butter in a pan then add sugar and stir until dissolved.
- Add the oats, hemp hearts and golden syrup and stir until all is covered.
- Line a 20 x 20cm baking tin with greaseproof paper and add the mixture.
- Press into the corners with the back of a spoon so the mixture is flat.
- Sprinkle hemp heart on top with a dusting of sugar to make a crispy hemp topping.
- Bake for around 15 mins until golden brown.
